Thunderbird nos brinda soporte IMAP/POP, incorpora un lector RSS, soporta HTML en los correos, búsqueda de gran alcance, nos permite administrar nuestra agenda y grupos de contactos.

Se sabe que el futuro Thunderbird 3 incorporará:

• Un nuevo gestor de actividad
• Un «Archivo», similar a Gmail
• Una nueva base de datos mundial
